I’m from Hong Kong and so familiar with highrise buildings and cyberpunk atmosphere. And still I find this intro breathtaking

yeah that’s what makes it crazy, even if you’ve seen that kind of skyline in real life it still feels unreal. the atmosphere and music just pull you in instantly

I love this movie now but as a kid 15 years ago when my dad first showed me I thought it was boring as fuck. However, even then I thought this intro was incredible. Cannot imagine sitting in a theater in 1982 and seeing this. I know Star Wars had happened by that point but still this intro scene must’ve been unreal.

I went to see it for the zillionth time at a city cinema last year. Walking to the station afterwards, it was pouring with rain and I chose the route through a load of seedy side streets with neon signs. Just for a few minutes I *was* Deckard!
