S. Craig Zahler (‘Bone Tomahawk’) wrote the screenplay:
>The movie is understood to follow a sheriff and a doctor who seek revenge against a group of bandits who use the cover of a torrential thunderstorm to rob and terrorize the occupants of a small town. The story will alight on themes central to Park’s oeuvre of vengeance, retribution, the consequences of violence and the power of memory and family, but this time in the American West.

I’ve read a couple of Zahlers books and watched all his movies and the man can write. Looking forward to this.

Austin continuing his insane auteur director run:
Tarantino, Jarmusch, Baz Luhrmann, Jeff Nichols, Denis Villeneuve, Ari Aster, Darren Aronofsky so far and soon Joseph Kosinski (possibly Michael Mann), Edward Berger and now Park Chan-Wook.

Don’t care for Zahler as a director but if anybody could make one of his scripts interesting it’s PCW

Read this script over ten years ago and it totally rocks. Tough one to produce, been waiting a long time for it to see the light of day and I couldn’t be more excited.

Sounds pretty incredible, and with a Zahler script, I can imagine something dark and deeply disturbed.
Such an interesting cast and crew.
So exciting!

Will you PLEASE give him an Oscar nomination this time?

I am so happy for Zahler, this script is amazing and hopefully this means more of his sold scripts are produced instead of sitting on the shelves at studios.
