    1. I was at Sundance when this was premiering and there were people paying $500 for ticket even though the thing was opening nationally like a week later. I found that wild. Some of the movies there don’t actually get played widely until months/years later (or never, if they don’t find distribution), but this one already had distribution and there were people desperate to see it a week early. I guess they just wanted to be in the same audience with Charli xcx and her friends. Then the movie got overwhelmingly mediocre reviews (53/100 on metacritic).

Also interesting it was just 1 of three movies she was in during Sundance. The other two being small roles in “I Want Your Sex” with Olivia Wilde/Cooper Hoffman (which was acquired by Magnolia and comes out in July), and “The Gallerist” with Natalie Portman/Jenna Ortega (which still doesn’t seem to have distribution). I guess it was a hard-launch of her acting career?

Anyways, I definitely plan on finally checking it out once it’s on HBO.
