it’s a low bar compared to everything else coming from a major studio this summer but just the lighting, framing and blocking seen in the trailers seems to outclass everything else

I have a certain amount of faith in Steven Spielberg but if his name wasn’t plastered all over this I’d dismiss it as cheap cheesy ‘content’. Crop circles? *Really?*

They missed a great opportunity by not using a slow and hauntingly eerie cover of the Bill Withers song for the trailer.

This seems to have quite a lot of haters considering the responses here but I’m going to trust Spielberg on this one, I have a feeling it’s going to be a surprise hit. He did say at CinemaCon that absolutely none of the third act is in any of the trailers so there’s a lot here we haven’t seen and a lot of story we don’t know. Possible it’s just slightly awkward to market without giving the whole thing away…
