  1. Never going to be easy when it’s behind a paywall on Sky. Would be much more suited to an ITV or C4

  2. I’ve had multiple arguments about this, but its clear to me this is a show built for online engagement from none british folks, than british people and i will die on this hill

  3. Honestly, who watches SNL live anymore? People just wait for the best bits the next day.

The cold open about Melania Trump in Croydon got 1.5 million views, proving that British people will always stop scrolling for a cheap shot at American politics. That sketch alone probably generated more online engagement than the entire last season of the US version.

I know people still watch and love SNL but it feels like the SNL brand isn’t as strong as it used to be, this seems 20-30 years too late

  6. I always catch up on YouTube. Be it SNL US or UK and I know many others also do this. SNL UK doesn’t seem to post all the skits there however, at least not immediately.

As for the show quality itself I thought it would be worse so I was pleasantly surprised. I think a lot of the skits are getting funnier, some fall flat in my opinion in comparison to US but some are just as funny. The UK weekend update and cold opens are still a bit weak however I think.
