Now that Passover is done, this is one of the few pieces of secular media we were allowed to watch as kids. It's still my favorite adaptation of the Exodus story, tied with the 1956's "The Ten Commandments", which was another staple in my house.

Any other Jewish or Messianic Christian household had this movie on repeat during Passover/Easter?

My mom’s half ashkenazi, and watching this movie with her was pretty much the only exposure I had to judaism while I was growing up, lol.

I wish there were more films depicting the Torah.

Any recommendations besides The Ten Commandments?

I’m not religious at all, but I still love this movie. This plus Road to El Dorado and Sinbad make up my favorite unofficial trilogy.

Didn’t grow up religious, but this was without a doubt my favourite movie. I still have most of the songs on my playlist for the drive to work

An actually entertaining movie from religious text where the creators had inspiration and heart.
