Since everyone is wondering "Why did it take so long??"

Well, here is why, straight from the police.

  1. True investigations take time. Good work DOES still exist in every vocation out there.

See? Life is more like “BOSCH” than “Law & Order.” Results take time. These are good results, too.

  3. I’m so glad they took their time to do their job the best way possible to ensure that rotten man is locked up forever

This is a capital murder case. If he is convicted, David Anthony Burke (he is no longer an artist) will either be in jail for the rest of his life, or be given the death penalty (still on the books in california, though currently California is no longer executing its death row population). It has to be dealt with the utmost seriousness. May that poor girl’s soul rest in peace, and may Burke answer for the crimes he is alleged to have commited.

All the people that wanted an instant arrest have clearly never watched 20/20.

I’m genuinely so hot about this fucking case. He was BRAGGING ABOUT IT!!! To the whole fucking world! Made a whole fucking music video about it! Whatever punishment they give him will never feel like enough

  7. people think CSI and Law and Order timelines are accurate. this was acutally a fairly quick arrest given the state of her remains and how long was required to even determine her manner of death as a result. arrest early and you give him an out in court even if you arrest again later because you look wishy washy – didn’t have the evidence to keep him the first time, what proof do you have you have that evidence *now.*

May Celeste rest in peace and may that vile man face the repercussions for his horrendous actions.

There are a contingent of “true crime” fans that think crimes can be solved by social media and thus get irritated when the police do actual police work

  10. First degree has a huge burden of proof and they obviously have everything they need now. Better to put him away for forever.

  11. Kudos to them. I remember when LAPD said there was “no evidence of foul play”. With a decomposed, dismembered child found in the trunk of a car. I remember the thinking these guys are clowns, but now I see they were playing the long game. Sometimes you have to get your no1 suspect comfortable so you can really catch them out.
