This worries me that her casting is announced so late in production. Like they added a bunch of reshoots with time travel/quantum realm nonsense to try to make the plot coherent

That’s fine, but I’m upset we’re getting more Cassie Lang, because we’re getting more Kate Bishop. (Other than that cameo, that probably goes nowhere)

  3. Little Cassie was so flippin adorable. Newton was a decent age up choice but abby fortson could probably take the role back considering how long it took these movies to make.

She was in the CinemaCon trailer last night, so this casting is now able to be confirmed

  5. I really don’t like her acting style. But I’m willing to recognize that what she does can probably be utilized well in certain types of movies. Heard she’s great in Lisa Frankenstein fwiw.

But she really drags Quantumania down even more than the script already was doing. And she really hurt Ready or Not 2. And idk what she was even going for in Detective Pikachu. She just has a very performative, theatrical acting style.

  6. What I really want is more Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, Jennifer Walters, and Yelena. Post-Endgame MCU has been mixed, but we got a ton of great actresses in fun parts.

  7. Quantumania. Man, Marvel took so long to pivot and rewrite the major villain after that film that jonathan majors career is *already back* after he got cancelled.

They’re not done filming? Or it’s filmed and she’s just gonna be in the movie?

I’m probably beating a dead horse here but I’m not super confident they’re going to pull this off. There were a lot of characters in the last two Avengers movies but we had spent a lot of time with those characters beforehand. They were fleshed out ahead of time so spreading out the screen time didn’t really hurt and they could spend more time on Thanos in Infinity War. That’s not really the case with Doomsday. I’m curious how they’re going to manage it all.

I feel her acting doesnt always capture the bubbly  improvisational tone she thrives with in parasocial social media stories. She was from that Disney Channel/CBS sitcom environment since childhood, which I think informs her persona. Katherine McNamara is another example.

  11. It’s hilarious how she will be compared to two male and female versions of her character and they are all super famous.

Hollywood a has been trying to make her a star for the past ten years and I don’t see why. Average to bad in every role I’ve seen her in.

There are some Marvel movies I’ve seen so many times that I’d really notice if a certain character were missing. That’s not the case here

  14. Before Quantumania there was no MCU character that I outright disliked.

Even anti-heros or bad guys like Baron Zemo or John Walker had some watch appeal. Or if they were a hard watch, like Ironheart or Joaquin from BNW, they were forgettable too.

But Cassie felt genuinely grating all throughout Quantumania.

No hate to the actress but I just don’t wanna see that character. It’s very rare a character annoys me as much as aged-up Cassie.

Like the scene where her father bails her out from jail and she’s not even thankful. Come on now.

Give me Hailee’s Kate Bishop (and her bff Yelena) or give me death.
