Wait is this a 50% match remake of the Denzel Washington classic?

Why are they remaking the Denzel Washington movie? This looks balls
sssawfish on
Not sure I would want to follow Denzel on this one.

Lol, they just can’t help themselves. That said, Yahya Abdul-Mateen is superb and it’s a tv series, not a movie remake which would be even more unnecessary. So sure, whatever.

He’s a great actor but I dunno.
I fucking love the movie. Denzel and that lil girl (forgot her name but she’s all growed up and a good actress still) do such a damn good job.
I’ll prob watch this but I don’t really see the point of remaking it
this looks like the slop you’d get if you asked AI to remake the movie using modern actors….meh

Based on very quick research it seems like a new adaptation of the original novel and its sequel, but given the synopsis I have found will depart significantly from the source material.

Why the fuck are they remaking this?

Tony Scotts frenetic style, a killer cast and the use of Nine Inch Nails made the last one so special. Scott was on fire.

A show on Netflix huh? If its good it’ll be canceled before the story wraps up.

It’s hilarious that people in chat are finding out the Denzel version is a remake as well as they bitch about remakes.
I for one will watch all three versions and read the first book and bitch about them like a true fucking r/televison redditor.

Just call it something else. It looks good, but I don’t see an ounce of Man on Fire in that trailer.

You are fucking with a classic here. Dangerous waters.

People forget this is already the 5th adaptation of Philip Nicholson’s (aka AJ Quinnell) novel.
I can’t see how everyone watching won’t be comparing it to the Denzel version the entire time….Not sure I see the point of this, but I’ll give it a chance.

A lot of comments here seem to not realize that the movie starring Denzel Washington is not the [original](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093489/).
Needs more Ben Kingsley.
Another remake….
