I’ll never forget when I went to see this at the cinema and the smile that broke out on my face when I started to realise what “Backdoor Lover” as actually about 😆

Brilliant, brilliant soundtrack and still one of my favourite films to this day.

this movie’s such a cult classic! the soundtrack still slaps, and the whole vibe is just peak early 2000s. can’t believe it’s been 25 years!

I loved this movie when it came out and its underrated but only in recent years have I discovered just how prolific and fucking amazing Adam schlesinger is/was as a songwriter. The man is a genius and its infinitely sad he lost his life to covid.

Why do I keep seeing this movie pop up all of a sudden? Like I see it mentioned on Reddit every other day now

I’ve seen people complain they didn’t like the movie because there was far too much product placement in it. They clearly did not understand the movie at all.

If you like the soundtrack you might like the band Letters To Cleo as the lead singer does Josie’s vocals and the band’s music is similar.

  6. This is the movie that taught me the importance of learning all the lyrics to enter sandman

I remember loving this movie as a kid but looking at it now I can totally see where all that eating disorder issues came from and the crazy thinness that was perpetuated in society. They were all soooooo thin.
