Laura Linney is talking about Congo, calling the 90's film "one of the great bad movies of our time" – do you agree with her, I know it got a lot of Razzies but I don't remember it being that awful https://www.the-independent.com/arts-entertainment/films/news/laura-linney-movies-ozark-congo-b2957339.html

I thought it was pretty fun. No idea what Tim Curry was going for but I was there for it.
The book scared the shit out of me as a kid, the movie was laughable far less scarry.
STOP EATING MY SESAME CAKE!
I remember staying home one day from elementary and this movie was on.
Idk why but it scared the shit out of me.
Fucked me up for awhile too
It was good cheesy fun. Tim Curry’s accent alone is a reason to watch this film.
Hilariously bad, but a fun time.
I freakin’ loved Congo! Top 10 Best Bad 90s Action Movie category with a 96% rewatchable score (personal score).
Bad adaptation but no way its a bad movie like Congo is just isn’t as impactful as Jurassic Park
I loved that movie as a kid, and even now! Watching the evil gorillas get lasered to death was awesome.
I really liked it & found it very entertaining.
I actually remember picking Congo from the shelves from my local Video Rental store.
Ugly Laura. Ugly. Go away
Cheesy, good, harmless fun. Tim Curry, Bernice Hudson and Delroy Lindo chew the scenery!
It’s a fun adventure film with a great score and many memorable lines. So no it’s not bad
honestly, it’s got that classic cheesy vibe that makes it kinda fun to watch, but yeah, it’s definitely not a masterpiece. it’s one of those “so bad it’s good” flicks for sure.
My recollection was they advertised killer apes a whole lot and how it was by the Jurrasic Park author, implying it would be basically Jurrasic Park with killer apes. Then then movie is like an hour and twenty minute snooze fest of the characters traveling to the killer apes, with five minutes of killer apes at the end.
And a stellar cameo by The Bruce
Congo was great…I didn’t know Hippos were dangerous at that point in my life
Loved Congo, definitely a favorite as a kid. The jungle defense scene blew my mind
You don’t need to watch the rest of the film, but the [action climax](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFWVGr8_ETI) is not to be missed.
So bad it’s good
It was a pretty stupid movie overall but it was entertaining as hell and all the characters played it as seriously as possible which made it work.
>”We have to switch airports.”
>”oh shit, why…”
>”They bombed the President’s car.”
>”Well did they get him?”
>”That’s the bad news, no they didn’t….I HOPE YOU FOLKS HAVE LOTS OF MONEY!”
It’s just your typical 90’s fun action movie.
I thought it was terrible. I watched long after reading the book and I thought it sucked. Never rewatched.
Its literally one of my family’s favorite movies we re-watch it all the time.

It was fucking terrible.
Michael Crichton wrote some really cool books but for his adapted movies only one of them was really good (Jurassic Park), one was “solid” (Thirteenth Warrior) with the rest ranging from bad (Sphere) to downright terrible (Timeline, Congo).

It was a silly movie, but a fun one. And it gave us [Taco Bell’s best burrito ever](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgkVSpOmcFY).
It is a great bad movie and that’s what makes it great.
Amy good
Paid to see it at the movie theater? No. Will watch it if it shows up on cable? Sure! It’s a fun watch.
