  1. Generally, video game movies don’t translate to film well; and I fear that this might be the case here.

  2. If its not some artsy silent A24 movie i don’t know how to picture it. But im still intrigued on how it gets pulled off.

  3. I hope there is a decent amount of character development and depth in this. The Mario movies have been eye candy with extremely shallow characters

  4. My expectations aren’t very high but I’m still worried I’ll be disappointed

  5. Between Wes Ball’s 2010 Zelda tweet, his Mouse Guard project that looked promising but was cancelled for bureaucratic reasons, and his maturation with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, I’ve actually been rather optimistic about the film’s potential. If he’s actually passionate about the mythological cosmology of Zelda and delivers on his stated Ghibli influence, it could shape up to be dope.

  6. I’m actually really excited to see LoZ on the big screen. Here’s hoping it’s something decent

  7. It’s crazy that this is wrapped already. They haven’t even announced any of the other characters or actors. Not even set leaks with the exception of Link and Zelda.

I don’t think this is gonna be the epic people are hoping for. It’ll be a kid friendly fantasy.

  8. – “a new agreement between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Netflix, which paved the way for Sony’s projects to join Netflix after their theatrical runs, and The Legend of Zelda is very much part of that…”

Sorry, maybe I missed it, but what involvement with this does Sony actually have?

It strikes me as wild that a Nintendo competitor – even one who has an incredibly well-developed operation in the medium of film after decades of work there – is involved in this.

Still, after Breath of the Wild turned me into a fairly recent convert to LoZ, I’m actually champing at the bit to see this.

I hope they bring something completely different to the table. Isn’t the point of Zelda to always feel different? I hope they were not afraid of making Link expressive and talkative, for example. (Well, not *talkative* but you get what I mean lol)

Please dont turn into another CD-i Zelda. I hope they took from the movie Legend for inspiration.

  11. If the movie is a box office hit, it could lead to 2 more sequel in the next 10 years.

  12. I don’t think I can bring myself to watch this. I was comfortable leaving this particular franchise unadapted. I hope it’s great, and worth the work/wait. I hope everyone loves what they do with it.

Are the cranes in that image built by Link? Really leaning into BOTW 2 for this one ig

  14. This, Elden Ring, the announced Bloodborne animation in development, the Sekiro anime…

That’s a lot of potential, let’s just hope the batting average is at least decent.

we all know this is gonna bomb right? there is no way in god’s green earth that nintendo, so tightfisted with creativity and its IP will do anything that can be considered cinematically good.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. I don’t remember there being cranes and trucks in ANY of the games
