The Halloween franchise is close. One more movie making at least around $120 million and it will hit $1 billion too.

Honestly would have never guessed these 5. Never realized the resident evil movies were actually bigger than elm street or the Friday the 13th movie.

Final Destination is only about $15MM away from joining this list
Bloodlines’ $317MM worldwide did some heavy lifting

Resident Evil has such a massive fan community for how much the fanbase was fucked by Paul William Scott Anderson turning the franchise into the Milla Jovovich show all because they started sleeping together

Really impressive part is “It” only has 2 movies, the rest of the horror franchises has a lot more movies to add to the box office.

Kind of hate that The Conjuring is the most successful horror franchise when it’s so bland (in my opinion)

The Conjuring Universe is basically the Despicable Me of horror at this point. Mainline entries are great, but the rest were practically immune to them and constantly makes around 5-10x their budgets, and $55M is the highest this franchise has gone.

Resident Evil is such a head scratcher to me, but just looked it up and it seems it’s non US numbers are gold for the franchise.
Of the seven films, three of the films (Retribution , Afterlife, and Final Chapter) int’l box office appear to account for over $700m of the total alone.
