never got into one piece but my roommate watches it religiously and even he was surprised how well the live action turned out on netflix. apparently they actually listened to fans for once instead of just doing whatever hollywood wanted
Ranks on netflix top 10 in their years in the US before falling off the chart
Season 1: 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 8th
Season 2: 4th, 4th, 9th
I don’t think this is anything to write home about for a show that had positive buzz in season 1. When a season is really a hit not only does the new season rate 1st for multiple weeks but the previous season also is in top 10.
I love the live action so much. I binged nonstop for a day and a half. Never watched the anime.
Keep streaming the show guys we need more seasons!
But the internet told me it was a flop that would be canceled!
Its well deserved I’m watching it right now. Its a wonderful adapation of the anime and the manga.
The sets are gorgeous
the casting is flawless
The fight scenes are well done
the actors seem to be having a lot of fun with their roles.
Of course the pacing is way faster than the anime because they have to get through alot of material quickly.
The deadpan humor from he original is all over the place in this show.
It’s the best pirate media since Black Sails

Started this yesterday, surprised by how good it actually is! I love anime, generally hate live action remakes, but this is great watching so far. You can tell the actors are having fun with it and absolutely chewing the scenery, but it works with the overall campy nature of the manga.
Good clean fun 😁
But it doesn’t have the best ratings of all time therefore it is a failure to Netflix. Time to cancel.
