The first mortal kombat movie was the first movie I ever saw by myself.  My mom was shopping at the crossgates mall and she bought me a ticket so she should shop
In peace, lol.  I was so fucking happy watching that movie, I loved MK!  The newest movie was ok, but I don’t love it, however I am stoked for this one if they do finally get to the tournament and I hope they add more kitch and fun.  I am bummed fascists and the Middle East will own this going forward…

    >Get over here and GET YOUR TICKETS to Mortal Kombat II, in theaters and IMAX May 8.

    >From New Line Cinema comes the latest high-stakes installment in the blockbuster
video game franchise in all its brutal glory, Mortal Kombat II. This time, the fan favorite
champions—now joined by Johnny Cage himself—are pitted against one another in the
ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the
very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.

Man do I need Stryker in these movies already.

Getting that Indiana Jones style scene where his fight starts and before his opponent can do shit he just pulls a gun and shoots em in the fucking face would be so hype.

Having one of these fighters be a random SWAT officer using military equipment is just prime for some hilarious entertainment

Is it just me or does this feel much different, tonally, than the other one with their made-up protagonist? Maybe it’s just them using music from the 90’s one in the trailer but it feels a bit more kitschy

  5. Thank you for finally not shying away from the brilliant original MK movie theme! That song is iconic for a reason and deserves to be blasted in theaters again.

  6. I’m still curious what the explanation for Johnny Cage being pulled into this is going to be.

Is he down on his luck because he accidentally killed a stuntman who conveniently happened to have the Mortal Kombat mark or something?

They already pulled the “descended from ancient lineage” trick with Cole in the first one so I doubt they’d do that again.

  7. Looks like the same crap as the previous one + an even more abysmal green screen.

I will take the ’95 film any day to whatever this is.
