Dune: Part Three doesn’t open until Dec. 18, but Warner Bros is reporting that 70MM Imax shows are already selling out for the Denis Villeneuve directed threequel in both North America and London.

Essentially, we understand that the Imax 70MM shows that were sold out are during opening weekend (Thursday-Sunday), one show a day at 19 Imax locations. More tickets will be going on sale soon for the Legendary-Warner Bros co-production.

  1. There are some movies that are meant to be seen in IMAX, and Dune is one of them.

This film will have IMAX 70mm exclusivity for more than 3 weeks for sure. As for IMAX with Laser, that kind of remains to be seen.

I’m sure people want to see it but tbh this sounds like a case of resellers

Woah… just like The Odyssey where it started a year for its pre-sales and sold out quickly, this along with The Odyssey are going to do really huge at the box office for IMAX earnings

  5. There was so much talk about this movie moving its release date, and WB confidently shows they’re not going to do it. Now they’ll have great publicity by showing off sold-out screenings from the presales.

Will a Dune movie finally outgross Thor: Love & Thunder!? Stay tuned to find out

  7. The only released one showing per day for like three days at my theater in San Francisco

  8. Glad that the WB picked their release date and stuck with it! 12/18 is a premium release date and effectively marks the start of the Christmas corridor. A Dune movie over the Christmas season will make for some exciting box office to track

  9. Am I crazy for preferring dolby. To me it’s the closest to my OLED tv colors/black levels
