$10M away from The Good Dinosaur’s total ($342M) in terms of Pixar’s ranking.
Crazy how in 2015 that was the studio’s only failure, and nothing could’ve gone lower. Now the pandemic and Disney+ impact changed so much that breaking even on their originals is the best they can do.

Actually not too bad of a hold, it held better internationally than domestic. 50% will be the worst drop it sees for a while and it’ll keep chugging along until it hits 375~ globally. It’s for about 20~ million domestic left in the tank and probably about the same internationally. It it holds very very well after this expected bad weekend then maybe it claws to 400. We’ll have a better idea next week.

The OS performance of this has been so underwhelming. Feels like it almost doesn’t get enough mention.
Even South Korea asside Hoppers fell incredibly flat vs Elemental in pretty much all remaining markets. Europe and Latam especialy have been very dissapointing for this.

Hoppers was a good movie and I loved it, but it goes to show it’s really, really hard for original non-IP animation to break out nowadays. Idk what the magic formula is – Summer or holiday window? WOM of a Wall-E / Ratatouille type film? The death of streaming platforms???? (not happening btw)

So depressing that $400 million is like a ceiling now for original animation and then lazy rubbish like whatever Illumination churn out or live-action Lilo and Stitch are beating that amount in one or two weekends

Is it just me or it’s performance has been disappointing?
On paper it has been holding pretty well, but the actual results are unimpressive.
Foreign markets have been kinda indifferent towards it.
Elemental did much better and it wasn’t just due to South Korea. The rest of the world was also more interested in Elemental than Hoppers.

Solid for its overseas number along with DOM numbers given that it was hit hard by Mario Galaxy debut, although Spring Break has kick off last week in each countries till next week, it should be enough to break even of its $375M mark to see if it hits $400M WW mark

Can’t make 400m WW, right?

Where is Elemental at the exact same point?
