If you look real hard, someone found the open-matte version of this movie. Then they AI-upscaled it (as the original was only in 1080p).
It is beautiful.
Still have a 1080p 3D projector and this film looks amazing with the glasses on. Only maybe eight or ten films ever truly nailed a 3D experience, and this one’s probably the best one that isnt fully animation.
The production design in this movie was a decade ahead of its time. Every frame of the Grid still looks cleaner than most CGI-heavy movies coming out today
