I really thought today was April fools day and that I had just gotten the dates wrong and was tricked.
This really makes me think they are building towards a smash bros film.

I love that character but I must admit the reveal of his inclusion is going to make the movie tens to hundreds of additional dollars.

Why. Why ruin this? They had a week to go!
And ugh. Why are they getting *more* rights?

Interesting they just spoil this now

OMG… did they show those new characters that were included in the final trailer?

I remember that Star Fox game on the GameCube.
Good times.

This confirms several things:
– StarFox is not dead after all, despite missing out on a new entry entirely during this past generation with the Switch 1. The franchise is minuscule compared to Mario, Zelda, Pokemon. But now that the main character will show up in a family movie that’s guaranteed to gross $1.3B worldwide…. MAJOR exposure for a niche Nintendo franchise.
– A new game is definitely on the way, maybe as soon as this year on the Switch 2.
– Illumination could eventually make a StarFox movie.
– The Nintendo Cinematic Universe might not be a far fetched idea. Instead, they might just make a Smash Bros Movie instead of a Mario 3 following the release of this movie.
– Fox might not be the only cameo character to show up. ROB and the Pikmin have already been revealed via the marketing as well. Who could be next?

I don’t think his inclusion will add anything noticable to the box office, but it could potentially do wonders for the Star Fox brand as a whole.

so this confirms a super smash bros movie. Gonna make zillions in the box office.

If you told me that Star Fox and Pikmin would be in the next Mario movie instead of Daisy, Wario, and Waluigi, I would be in disbelief.
