Quite a feat for the seventh installment of a horror franchise in its 30th year.

    >Scream 7 passes Scream 6 domestically to be the biggest of the franchise.

Loved 7 for the most part, but I really hope the studio can have the sense to let this franchise breathe for a bit. There doesn’t have to be a new one every year. I know that might be asking too much though.

That’s a shame cause it’s the worst one. 80% good but that 20% of utter crap drags it down

30 years and aside from the obvious odd man out that’s Scream 4, each film has earned $80M and higher. That’s great longevity if you ask me.

I’m so happy to see this movie do (extremely) well – it had to contend with so much ugliness online about its release yet it managed to prevail to go onto become the highest grossing Scream entry in the entire franchise, domestically and worldwide! I love that it’s performance has cemented that people adore Sidney, yes we all know everyone turns up for Ghostface but selling this as Sidney’s big return as the main and the BO payoff has shown what people love about this franchise!

And that’s what happens when you centre and honour the people who made the franchise what it is. I hope the success of this and Halloween and the… underperformance of IKWYDLS shows Hollywood that we don’t want younger pale imitations, we want the actors we know and love
