The “Ghost War” part of the title sounds like a Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movie.

Wow, action movie hero that doesn’t look like typical action movie hero

They don’t even try to do the subtle Jack Ryan thing at this point and have him going full on Rambo / Reacher in these things.
S1 of the show captured the spirit well enough but once they had Jack Ryan doing a military invasion of the Venezuelan presidential palace the shark was jumped and there was no coming back

Sad it ain’t going theatrical

If you asked me to put together a generic trailer for an action movie – this would be it.

I think the quality of the Jack Ryan series with Krasinski has been pretty high, but as a Jack Ryan adaptation just in general, it has continued to shit the bed more and more every season beyond the first. The whole point is that this guy is just a really capable analyst who finds himself involved in stakes that are far beyond his station, yet he pulls through. At this point in the series, Krasinski is basically Delta or some shit.

No thanks. Didn’t Clancy’s later novels with Jack Ryan turn into like a MAGA person’s wet dream?
Thanks ChatGPT
**LMAO**
**Executive Orders (1996)**
* Jack Ryan becomes President after a catastrophic attack wipes out much of the U.S. government.
* Themes:
* Strong executive power and decisive unilateral action.
* Favorable portrayal of military intervention and covert operations.
* Immigration and border security framed as national security risks.
* Often cited as a turning point where Ryan embodies a more assertive, conservative presidency
Rainbow Six (1998)
* Introduces John Clark leading an elite multinational counterterrorism unit.
* Themes:
* Strong support for elite military/police units operating globally.
* Villains include radical environmentalists planning mass depopulation.
* This portrayal of eco-terrorism is often viewed as a critique of extreme environmentalism.
Across his later works, you’ll see:
* **Stronger military-first solutions** to global problems
* **Support for executive authority** in crises
* **Skepticism of global institutions or diplomacy alone**
* **Portrayal of ideological enemies** (terrorists, authoritarian states, radical activists)
* **Reduced ambiguity**—earlier books had more nuanced geopolitics compared to later “good vs. bad” framing
