A remake of ‘Forbidden Planet’ has been stuck in development hell for decades. At one point, J. Michael Straczynski, creator of the Sci-Fi series ‘Babylon 5’, was attached to write a film trilogy based on ‘Forbidden Planet’.

Damn, that’s a pretty spectacular scene. it looks really good too. The acting is really stiff, but maybe this was a choice? The rifles probably don’t have recoil so maybe this is what it would actually look like? Or maybe the idea of acting against something that would only be there in post-production was not really as developed as it is today?
Cameron was thinking about a remake for awhile.
Ahead of its time and good story. Very patrtnalistic however.
