The wife and I are really good friends with one of his sons. Dudes just as hardcore for the military but laments that everywhere he goes that’s all people want to talk about when in reality he just wants to nerd out about sci-fi or anything else lol.
Coincidentally, I also joined the Navy diving program simply because I grew up on an island and loved rec diving. But little did I know (and why TF my dad, who is also a navy vet and SEASONED diver did say hey watch this movie before you go) how hard of a program it was. I did not pass lol.

Sometimes movies flirt a little too heavily with “Oscar-bait material” but this real life story was very worth telling and the end result just makes it a great movie.
