Will need to make as much as it can before Mario stomps on everything, but definitely expecting a great hold next weekend.

really happy that both this and GOAT are performing really well. shows that there’s still a market for original animation in theaters — you just gotta give it a good hook and market it well. (the two movies being good definitely also helps).
people both IRL and online are non-stop raving about this movie, so WOM should continue to keep it well afloat till mario comes barreling in. let’s go hoppers!!
Ok, so it looks like it’s a thing even for its moderate hits: Disney is consistently overestimating its box office for pretty much everything. The rule of thumb that the estimates are lower than the actuals has not applied to Disney movies for the last few years.
This happened for elio, moana 2, fantastic four, and haunted mansion. And I’m sure if I dug more, it applies to way more movies.
I think the only movie recently that hasn’t been overestimated is zootopia 2, and that’s only because it was mega huge.

Despite actual numbers lower then expected, it’s still pretty good for Hoppers making a comeback for their Pixar originals IP
With 3 weeks till The Super Mario Galaxy Movie debuts, it should continue to hold well and see if it can match or near as Kung Fu Panda 4 daily numbers in March
