  1. I thought those numbers were high. I get that Frozen is Disney’s cashcow, but they’re not paying Avengers numbers for voicework.

  2. Totallycomputername on

If she is getting front pay and back end residuals she could easily say she’s making a lower amount since residuals would be a seperate payout determined after release.

  3. I’m interested how Sonic 4 got her if her performances are $15m a pop. Keanu got $5m and Idris Elba got $3m for their performances. Even Carrey’s return was only $12m and he played 2 roles.

  4. Let’s pull the original report

    > The $60 million fee for the two new sequels — which includes upfront fees

    > #**and back end bonus payments in each case**

    > [. It] is a steep increase from the trio’s paydays on “Frozen 2,” which netted each $15 million.

Basically, I assume that’s the entire “dispute.” It’s really far from crazy for Bell/Mendezel/Gad’s salary + box office escalators to each peak at $60M given Disney doesn’t do profit sharing and these films are going to shed massive amounts of money to the Disney corporation.

    > An executive close to the deal emphasized that it was not a lump sum and would be paid over several years tied to the production of each film and the performance of each at the box office. Talent deals typically pay an upfront sum, in this case close to $20 million per actor, with bonus payments tied to the film’s financial success.

So, basically, from Bell’s POV this could easily be seen as a “$20M” salary transformed via telephone into a $60M per film salary.

  5. I think she’s being a little disingenuous. I’m sure she’s telling the truth that her *up front salary* isn’t going to be anywhere near that, but the $60 million number that was floating around also referred to the potential back end, box office bonuses, etc.

So it’s a completely believable number. It’s maybe even a little *low*. Her agents would be committing malpractice if they didn’t get her something at least in that range.
