Here we go. The industry coalition against Netflix has changed its target.
Their position is clear: no company should buy Warners. Period.
Will that happen? Not now, lol. But this is even more reason to deny this bullshit megamerger from ever taking place.

The massive debt that Paramount will accrue is almost certainly gonna lead to significantly less films getting purduced.

I get where the WGA is coming from but people need to realize that there is no reality where Warner Brothers continues to operate as an independent studio for the next 10+ or even 5+ years. The media business fucking sucks right now, the shareholders don’t want the company any more and if it doesn’t get sold now it will continue to lose value until some private equity vulture scoops it up, shuts down the studio and sells every bit of IP to the highest bidder.

By the way: The state of California passed laws this year that allowed them to give California AGs more power to block a deal.

I’m fully behind the criticisms of reducing studios/work etc. it’s why I’m not for this merger as I was against the Netflix one as well.
I am not here for people to moan about MAGA and that nonsense

No, no. This outcome is far worse.
