It’s early, but Scream 7 headed for a $28m+ Friday and $65m potential weekend.

  1. Amazing result. Boycotts don’t mean anything. And boycotting films, doesn’t end wars at all.

Can’t wait to see the cinemascore. Some are saying it’s one of the worse movie in history.

  3. Damn, it keeps increasing! But I was told this movie would fall off a cliff after reviews!

I really enjoyed it! Great experience.

  4. Genuine question, but why do people think Jenna Ortega is a box office draw because she is in a popular TV show?

Pick any popular TV show (Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, FRIENDS , The Walking Dead, Mad Men, X-Files, The Sopranos, The Wire, etc.) and you’ll find NONE of the lead actors are box office draws.

TV show popularity is irrelevant when it comes to selling tickets and always has been.

    Jenna turning down a hit

My screening was all adults , no teens like FNAF, good to see adults show up

A Scream movie almost breaking a $70M opening is massive. Once again shows how bad the fourth one had it in 2011 vs now.

  7. I am part of the “probable huge drop next week” team but it is funny every time I check reddit the predictions for this get even higher

  8. Until this movie fails to hit an expectation, I will assume the expectation that was set will get blown past

Scream 7 keeps going over the numbers. Put another way – show me a box office number where Scream 7 did not deliver

[Even my $52MM OW from near a month ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/boxoffice/s/J8atHnWOGo), before presale tickets went on sale, was perceived as a legit insane take at the time, but I knew in my heart of hearts this movie would succeed. Somehow even I lowballed by more than 25% – when my own prediction was 30% over everybody else!

What a time to be a Scream fan
