  1. JUST saw it.

I hated it. It felt like it was made by and for the most annoying and terminally online “le random XD” Reddit users imaginable. Complete with AI doomer-ism and whining about kids on Tik Tok.

Also….. >!how was the AI in this movie evil and why do the characters wanna stop it?? “Yeah it’s proven it can give you an amazing world with no death, suffering, pain, or misery but that’s actually bad we need the real world !”. Yeah I’m sure this world where people are in constant misery is *totally* better than the beautiful utopia the villain promised.!<

  2. A very fun film with an overt message about current social issues. It’s got a lot of Shaun of the Dead mixed with some Skynet from Terminator. It definitely won’t be to everyone’s taste, just like all Verbinski films.

Rockwell absolutely carries the film with his performance, and I always love watching him chew up the scenery like he did in this.

But wow, the dark dark comedy in this really got me. It just finds some absolutely insane topics and ways of extracting uncomfortable laughs and shocking moments, none of which ever felt over the top for the world they were building here. But wow.

I encourage people to give the movie a chance. Whether you like it or not, it is definitely one of the more interesting films this year so far.
