and as a teacher they should know damn well that immigrant parents are some of the best ones to have with you. of all the parents in my classes growing up in LA, the students with immigrant parents were always the ones to count on for no nonsense, good attendance, and full support of their kids doing their best in school and appreciating their opportunities. this teacher should be ashamed.

That’s so sad. I work as a school consultant and most teachers I work with are fantastic. If someone has these views they should not be teaching or working with children in any capacity, full stop.
And here I am thinking about how I can hide my students if anyone shows up at our school. My baseball bat is right next to the door.
