They’re really including all the iconic moments in here aren’t they. This does have potential to be huge because MJ is/was that big. But it also has potential to do sub $500M because musical biopics are not a massive genre with the exception of one fluke. Truly a wildcard.

Biopics tend to be hit or miss in terms of box office success. How big you were in your time doesn’t always correlate with having putting up big numbers when your movie comes out. But again this is Michael Jackson.

After The Housemaid made a comeback for Lionsgate, the studio should also make a comeback with Michael (domestically they handle while Universal handles internationally) if it’s good and The Hungers Games Sunrise of the Reckoning

Lionsgate’s been having some good successes with NYSM3 and Housemaid, thankfully this and Songbirds and Snakes should continue that for them
Wonder if they’ll outgross Paramount this year, Lionsgate at least have these wheras Paramount has nothing noteworthy outside of Scream 7 and Scary Movie 6

I don’t see this flopping or even grossing below $500m. But the people predicting anything near $2b are insane. Also, I won’t be shocked at all if this movie ends up being overseas heavy
