  1. Great results for a great film! Original films still matter. So happy this is doing well.

Better than I expected for this solid horror movie! Given how well reviewed it is and reception so far, the older audience, and now taking advantage of no competition until Scream 7, a decent 3.5x can probably get this to $70M+.

Only thing standing in its way is the Super Bowl next weekend, and we all know how that specific weekend goes.

Great result, especially for an original R-rated horror film…, it destroyed all expectations. Positive WOM kicked in!

  4. Exceeded Drag Me to Hell’s unadjusted 15.8 million opening, making it Raimi’s biggest for his original films.

  5. Great opening for this. Very happy that sam raimi is back directing horror movies. Also his best-reviewed movie since drag me to hell and spider-man 2.

  6. Send Help’s $7.1MM Saturday was up a huge +42% from its $5MM true Friday

Smile opened similarly – $22.6MM OW with a +39% bump on Saturday compared to its true Friday

I’m having a hard time finding other thrillers or horrors or the in between with such a huge Saturday bump

Smile had x4.69 legs. If Send Help can keep pace and do x4 legs or so it can expect around $80MM domestic

Saw this yesterday. Great movie. Kept me guessing and questioning the characters motivations and reality the whole time. The final shot was also pretty rad.

I hope this gets Dylan O’Brien some more big opportunities. He is excellent. And Rachel McAdams proving again she’s an underrated and generational talent.
