Devastated to see this today. Albert had been kidnapped!
Cyril is a French tiktoker whose content focuses around his pug, Albert.
The two of them have a hilarious dynamic with Albert being a one of a kind chaos gremlin. He has 8.5 million followers on TikTok and some videos have tens of millions of views. Many of the videos are quite humorous, but throughout all of it it’s obvious how much Cyril cares for Albert and his other dog, Christine.
He posted today that Albert has been kidnapped.
Apparently this is the 8th kidnapping attempt, with 7 previous unsuccessful attempts. Cyril lives in the middle of nowhere and has a lot of security. Two thieves lay in wait for many hours, and grabbed Albert when he went outside to use the bathroom. It was a targeted attack, and they ran past Christine (the other pug) to get to Albert, leaving her behind. Cyril is understandably devastated, he said himself he is not sleeping and it looks like he’s been crying for hours. He already gave the evidence to the police from all the videos.
Anyway I am so sad about this, and really hoping he is able to find Albert soon.
Definitely a reminder how dangerous social media can be, there are a lot of crazies out there who will use the info we share online to stalk or target people.

Absolutely dystopian. I came across some of his videos and was surprised to see he had such a large following of English-speaking fans, considering he’s French, but his love and bond with his dog clearly crossed the language barrier. It’s so sad. I don’t know how we’ve come to the point where people lie in wait to abduct TikTokers’ dogs.
That’s absolutely awful, and one of my worst fears regarding my dog. I honestly hope this is a publicity stunt because that’s what’s best for the dog.
NOOOOOO . I just discovered Albert. I pray he gets him back and that karma destroys those kidnappers.
I am so upset about this. They think it was someone who is a follower of his accounts. Because he stole Albert and left Christine. The dogs were outside going potty. It’s terrifying.

Ehhhh how did this happen? Did they yonk the leash off his hands? Because if there were 7 previous kidnapping attempts I feel like I’d go out with my dog on a leash every time he uses the bathroom and I’d never just open the door and let him go outside unsupervised. I mean maybe the thieves wrestled the leash out of his hands so I don’t want to judge him, but personally I don’t let my dog go outside alone even for a short period of time. Now if my dog had been the subject of kidnapping attempts I’d have switched to a sturdy leash and harness system that’s attached to my body and makes it impossible to separate us quickly.
