Movie theatres are dead 💔

Avatar probably around 900k.
Monday’s drop from MLK day wasn’t anything special (82%). And Tuesday’s drop from last Tuesday will be around 40%. These are normal drops for this same time last year and doesn’t show any spillover from the Winter storms.
not sure why people are feigning surprise over AFAA. it made $1.5M last tuesday and has been doing consistent 40% drops, and lost PLFs. sub-$1m was a given

Sad days for movie theaters in this era.

Wow this is horrible. Hopefully because of the storm. I canceled two tickets this weekend that I’m watching this weekend. I hope others did the same and we can see a small boost
Oof. Between the lingering effects of the winter storms, several holdover films from the holiday season beginning to wind down in their box office runs, and several new releases majorly underperforming, the $1M club was a bit of a ghost town this week.

This is after BOT was gassing up A3 with a 1.1 prediction this morning.

You’re going to need to send help to the box office this weekend.

Still dealing with winter storms recovery, it looks like Mercy is only on the top that’s above Flight Risk Tuesday numbers with $1.48M
RIP Avatar
