It ain’t gonna be profitable edit: I didn’t know about how much cineverse spent on it so it’s gonna be profitable for them, but a bomb for everyone else

I was surprised to see a Silent Hill movie coming out considering it had no promotion at all.

Cool… I like to see smaller companies do well… well I like to see all of them do well. I’m gonna see it this week.

  4. on this topic, according to their quarterly report, Cineverse spent $2.8M marketing toxic avenger (at least in the film’s release quarter) and got back only $1.1M theatrically not including deductions iconic’s theatrical distribution fee (if I read the latter part correctly). Depending on how well it overperformed on home video that probably breaks even on either PVOD of VOD.

Anecdotally, it definitely felt like Toxic Avenger’s marketing was more prevalent (even if a lot was earned media I was still hearing their ads on ringer podcasts) but P&A spend can’t be higher than that.
