She wanted a necklace, Cady did, and she didn't really have anything…It's a leather strap that she pulled off of one of her bracelets. She took something from her past life and adapted it from her African days.

That may well be the case, but it clearly isn’t THAT bracelet, is it?
I watched the clip and its still not the same bracelet or even close. Even in the clips it shows you can tell its nowhere near resembling the bracelet she wears at the beginning.
I kind of feel like it’s just the costume designer making up her own sort of stories whether or not they’re actually reflective of the film, because very clearly that is not the strap from the same bracelet she probably just came up with that idea for the character without actually adding the continuity with the props
