We watched Zach Cregger's new film Weapons last night and I noticed a call back to his directorial debut, Miss March.
Spoilers:
Gladys forces Alex's parents to stab themselves in the face with forks. I believe this is a direct reference to the famous scene in Miss March where Trevor Moore's character recounts the story of having to stab his girlfriend with a fork after an ill-timed epileptic seizure.
