In Alien: Earth (2025), this letter from Weyland-Yutani states that Mr. Morrow will return to earth in 53 years however, the letter itself states Mr. Morrow is in year 8/65, which would mean he actually has 57 years left on his trip, not 53.

Just another corporate fuck-up.
The mission lasts 65 years, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re traveling that long. They probably are subject to monitoring and testing for an extended period following their trips, possibly 4 years?
Haven’t watched the show, but could they be accounting for the time for the message to reach him?
The event occurred in year 8, but took 4 years to reach him so by the time he reads it there are only 53 years left to the mission?
Time dilation?
