I noticed many scenes involving Oliver had an element of red. Initially I believed it represented the passion and love. it's only during the later scenes it's depiction of Olivers sinister side. He even wears a red bathrobe day after his party. The. Color red gets brighter towards the end(entire scenes contains elements of red) and there are flashes of light shade of red at the beginning of the movie
The exact scene where he's blowing of candles he resembles devil in front of the fire.
It may be a bit of stretch but there's a hp reference of triwizard tournament.
Early on, one of the character is reading hp.
During the party Felix and Oliver confront each other in the maze.
Similarity –
Felix's dead body is found in the middle of the maze just like Cedric.
Both the characters are killed by someone in disguise of a friend (Cedric – Peter Pettigrew and Felix – Oliver)
Triwizard was more of a competition but Oliver killing Felix was just to climb up the ladder (I went overboard here maybe, apologies )
Lastly, Murder on the dance floor perfectly captured the plot and Oliver's action

A very very small chance.
Movie was just a worse version of the talented Mr Ripley
