Later in the movie, after Veruca Salt is sent down the trash chute, Willy Wonka mentions that it's a good thing that they only light the furnace on Tuesdays. One of the children then responds that it was Tuesday.
In 2005, February 1st was indeed on a Tuesday.

As an aside, this movie isn’t as good as the original but gets an undeserved amount of hate. It’s weird, but it has some great moments.
I remember watching this in the cinema to only be told after that Wonka was played by the same guy as Jack Sparrow, shit blew my mind
