  2. This is the answer to people asking why they won’t stop. They haven’t even hit their ceiling yet

Good. I hope MCH rides this role into the sunset. As ridiculous as this IP has gotten at times, I will always love watching him play this role. Episodes 1/2 felt right at home with the original run of the series.

I’ve watched the first two episodes. I’ll try to speak in the vaguest terms possible.

The first one does a lot of ridiculously contrived things in order to be able to wrap up the old plot from New Blood and shift the location to New York for the plot to come.

The second one starts to introduce this new plot and it’s by far the most ridiculous Dexter plot yet.

Having said that, just like New Blood, it’s oddly watchable. Uma Thurman has popped up a couple times and is leaning into the ham with relish.

This show was never really realistic, but the first season through to the fourth had a certain gravitas to it, this latest continuation feels more comic booky than anything else this character has been part of, and again, I’m oddly enjoying the ridiculous ride.

Peter Dinklage has been mentioned in the closing credits twice now but we haven’t seen him yet. Either they haven’t panned the camera down far enough and we haven’t noticed he’s there, or they’re bigging his name up because he’s gonna be a John Lithgow Shut Up Cunt level big bad. I’m sorry for the height puns. Couldn’t help myself.

Embrace the silly with this show, like you have to when watching Reacher for example. It’s that kind of show now for better or worse.
