In the beginning of The Big Lebowski, 1998, the Dude sees this speech on the TV while postdating a check for .69 cents. He dates his check 9/11/91. HW Bush gave this speech August 5, 1990, so Dude postdated his check thirteen months.

The Gulf War ended in February 1991, so there’s no way the date could be correct anyway. My guess is whatever prop assistant made the check had no idea when the war happened so they just guessed. Or the cabal of global elites was putting their plans in the open three years ahead of time.
There was just something about that date that seemed equally important.
Postdating doesn’t stop the store from cashing that check
