In the movie Takedown (2000), a film that (poorly) portrays the events leading up to real life hacker Kevin Mitnick’s arrest, Mitnick (Skeet Ulrich), changes his identity to Martin Bryce. This is a nod to the movie Sneakers (1992) and the true identity of Robert Redford’s character – Martin Brice.

Such a great movie
And if y’all haven’t seen Sneakers, you should.

Cattle mutilations are up.
DUDE you know what kills me? Watching the company mandated anti-phishing video hosted and produced by…. Kevin Mitnick. I jumped up at my desk like “DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND HOW F*CKED UP THIS IS?”
“How’s The audio?” Bishop
“Good!, Mother’s pretty close.” Whistler
“He’s just wearing four safety belts…this time.” Crease
“What?, no parachute?” Bishop
If you’re interested in his autobiography, Ghost in the Wires is a terrific read. It’s a very entertaining story about how much of a troll he was and how everyone (including the US government) thought he was an evil, mastermind, genius type dude.
This is awesome! Sneakers is one of the best movies ever made!
Whistler: “*Fellas, Janek’s little black box is on his desk* between the pencil jar and the lamp.”
Mother: “Uh, Whistler, I hate to tell you this, but you’re blind.”
What a movie. Amazing how far under the radar _Sneakers_ has sailed.
Seven Oscar winners or nominees in acting categories (I had always thought it was six, forgetting that River Phoenix got a nom when he was quite young).
