Cruella de Vil, a British character, uses US date format (MM/DD/YYYY) when she writes a cheque to purchase the Dalmatian puppies in ‘101 Dalmatians’ (1996). US Actress Glenn Close, who portrayed her, was probably oblivious to it.

She was probably oblivious to it because that kinda stuff is usually made by the art department or the prop crew working on the movie.

Or, it’s a little extra attention to character detail as Cruella enjoys tearing into anyone who would dare correct her, so she writes any date the American way.

    3. Or she uses the American style for a cheque in America so it doesn’t get flagged by the bank for being filled out incorrectly
