Just the last 30 seconds is all I need to be fully hyped for this.
The production design already looks incredible & I could tell Tom is having fun playing an unhinged character

Weird idea for a trailer.

This trailer is brazenly cocky. I hope they can back up their promise with a great movie and performance. I can’t wait.

I think Digger will likely be at least not bad.
Which is to say I have infinitely more faith in it than the people who cut this trailer.

I would absolutely be side-eyeing this type of trailer for almost anyone else but Tom Cruise just is that guy and this has me totally hyped.

Because of how big a star he is, I think people forget how great of an actor Cruise actually is. I’m really excited for this.

I was already hyped and *then* Money for Nothing kicked in.

This is such a weird way to market your movie. I don’t know what I feel about it. It certainly got me interested, but I feel like centering your whole marketing around “Look, it’s Tom Cruise” can backfire.

My go-to hot take is that, despite how weird Cruise is, I love everything that he is in and nothing has changed my mind on that front. That restrospective was hype.

So, what is this even about?

Really pushing for this to be his Oscar moment. Makes sense historically. About the age when great starts who haven’t won get their lifetime achievement Oscar essentially. Although him not winning for Magnolia still hurts.

This is Oscar bait and I kind of dig it.
I mean if you’ve done 40+ years of films, why not showcase it ahead of your next major film.

Man, I really thought this was a Tom Cruise documentary until the last 30-ish seconds, haha.
Looking forward to this one.

Tropic Thunder-esque performance loading from Cruise?
Also idk why but it gives me Twilight Zone kinda vibes but ofc with comedy and action.

Whatever you think of him as a person, Tom Cruise is a fantastic actor. It’s great to see him in something other than Mission Impossible (which are really entertaining, no problem with those)

Say what you will about his personal stuff (it’s a lot, we know), he’s the last true Hollywood great. That run of films and characters is unreal.

That was pretty neat gotta be honest – Cruise is an absolute legend IMO and this supercut was really great. That move looks also bonkers!
And I want a 10 hour loop of that intro riff of money for nothing including the bass drop part.. Does that exist somewhere? (A simple longer version does also sufice :D)

It’s getting that “yeah we know it’s Tom Cruise” out of the way early so you’d focus on the movie itself. Sorta like pro wrestlers acknowledging or playing to the crowd right at the start of a segment so the audience can stfu and focus on the rest of the promo.

Looks very interesting, and I’d watch it. Just one thing irks me, where it shows the filmmakers still continue to defy basic showcasing of military in general. Top Gun Maverick can get it right (for the most part), and so did many of his other films (Top Guns, Few Good Men, Valkyrie where the attention to detail was absolutely impeccable, then so can Cruise’s current film). Hell, even what very little was shown military-hardware wise (and which wasn’t the focus of the film), War of the Worlds did it well. I’d figure Tom Cruise is an absolute stickler for details, but it seems he didn’t have much creative liberty this time around. This looks more like another film I REALLY wanted to love but fuckign despised it due to its insane inaccuracies and blatant and over-forced social commentary (Don’t Look Up.. I loved the cast and their acting, but goddamn the space launch, military procedures and portrayal, IT portrayal, news coverage, social media protrayal.. was all a stupid farce… never had a film going in I was so hyped about I left so disappointed with zero immersion to the film at all.. it’s a film school project with a big budget).

B-2’s engines are embedded deep within the airframe, and much of the exhaust is deliberately cooled. The only way to get an orange glow from any low-bypass turbofan jet engine is via wet thrust, or afterburner. B-2’s engines have no afterburner equipped.
When they show the overhead shot of the B-2 with the exhaust glow, that’s just crazy artistic liberty that goes insanely against the philosophy of the B-2 bomber. The exhaust has significantly less heat than any other flying jet ever, maybe aside from the upcoming B-21, so no exhaust plume would ever be visible.
The same goes for the two F-35’s. The engine is deeply embedded inside the fuselage, and an F-35 would NEVER go wet thrust when flying formation with a B-2, and also NEVER fly vertically abreast ever where they’re deliberately blocking and blooming the B-2’s sensor array on bottom of its airframe (which will cause calibration errors on the systems that’s required to drop the payload in the first place).
They’ll fly line abreast, several hundreds of meters apart to start, which then diverges further the closer they get to the meat of their sortie. Way to absolutely break immersion.
Details matter. If they want oscar bait, then show your work, show your details, be meticulous so immersion doesn’t break.
The worse oscar winner to have done this was Hurt Locker with several errors with at least 1 error in every single damn scene in the entire film that’s full of inaccuracies and blatant errors.
It reallllly doesn’t take much to hire a consultant.
