Tom Hanks: “The best petri dish for tyranny is indifference, and we have a choice every single day to do something or not based on what we think is right.”
I wrote in the Kendrick sub [how power moves into vacuums](https://www.reddit.com/r/KendrickLamar/comments/1tdcq90/beautiful_sub_theme_from_the_civil_rights_era_the/). History shows this, even in Afghanistan or the Monroe doctrine. Someone who wants power eventually took advantage of decades of US voter apathy. Checks and balances in the Constitution is supposed to work through human nature where everyone wants power. But it doesn’t balance when congress, states, etc don’t want it as much as Trump.
I guess Hanks learned the history for Band of Brothers.

Sorry Tom, no.
As much as I love films, Hollywood isn’t the answer to the world’s problems that it thinks it is.
If you really want to help, use your profile to consistently call it out. Use your influence to pressure organisations that are enabling it. Use your millions of dollars to combat it.

The first time Thump was elected, Tom told us we’d be alright

At this point, giving a very generic statement and not calling out names is essentially the same as being indifferent.
