These movies are the most garbage propaganda imaginable now. At least when Clancy was alive they were entertaining propaganda.
Shrug-worthy Prime Video movie is a whole genre.

UAE advertorial aside, I seem to have a much larger willingness to suspend disbelief with these Jack Ryan flix. Like it’s totally understandable that the Director of the CIA , immediately after his predecessor was assassinated, would be involved in an armed overseas wet op, including a helicopter. They make movies; I eat popcorn. Same with the Mission Impossible pics. Still that’s kind of sad because I think the characters have great potential and the storylines could be better with just a little work.
Tom Clancy’s is such a dead property. Totally cold war.

Prime put their money on Jack Ryan, when they should have *continued* to put their money on John Lakeman.

Prime and Netflix movies are present day TV movies. Redbox slop if you will.
These series have all seemed tone deaf to the countries and potential conflicts they allude to and just get everything wrong. I mean it’s all propaganda but man I only have a causal understanding of the regions and know what they show is mostly bullshit that tries to have a blend of cold war err polticas and modern settings and politics.
How about they have a plot focused on Jack Ryan consulting with the FBI to deal with white nationalists funded by Russia and it reveals ties to the political leadership of the Republican party? Would that be relevant?

The audio for the dialog seemed all muted for most of the movie. Ending on a feels good just isn’t the answer sometimes.
