Unfortunate, but expected. Ashur just never seemed like a big enough character to base a spin off on.

many better characters to base a spinoff off on.

Damn. I did enjoy it, but it couldnt hold a candle to the original series imo.

Damn that sucks. House of Ashur was amazing and i really wanted to see where they were going with it after that WILD finale. I hope this isnt the end of Spartacus shows on Starz but its hard to imagine they try anything else

Starz really is very unlucky in the way of longevity with their shows.

I just re watched the Spartacus . What a good watch.
I didn’t try this, just didn’t care about Ashur.

And what of good Solonius?

Weird premise to start with. The show finished in a satisfying way, so why mess with it?

Totally forgot this was a thing. Never heard anyone talking about it while it was on.

That’s too bad. I enjoyed it more than I expected to and would have kept watching. I would bet most people who started it, finished it, but it probably didn’t draw too many people in from the jump.

Fuck this sucks. Really enjoyed it. Article says they’re shopping it elsewhere but 9 times out of 10 I feel like no one else ever picks these up

Everyone saw this coming when the idea for the show was first announced.

If you want to watch something similar, I liked Those About to Die on Peacock. I’d call it a cross between Spartacus and Rome.

A tough act to follow to be honest.

How are they even going to use the name Ashur and have nothing to do with Assyria or Mesopotamia??
I haven’t watched the series but just saying.

Why haven’t I heard of this show until now

I’d watch a new series based on that underground fighting ring, where shamed gladiators were sent to fight to the death called The Pit (or “the pits of the underworld”). Opportunity for more fight gore than the original & new characters will be interesting.

Damn. I really enjoyed being back in that world and Nick Tarabay was excellent to watch.

Kinda surprised.

They just waited far too long to make this show. Over a decade later audiences move on and Starz is nowhere near the network it used to be.
