The rumor is that he’s going to go to Max Lousada’s (the former head of recorded music at Warner, until he was fired last year) new venture with Julie Greenwald (the former head of Atlantic). The venture, 26.2, is affiliated with Sony. Makes sense; Max has been involved in his career since the beginning.
That being said, given where Ed is in his career, he needs a lightweight distro deal with one of the majors (think Shania with Republic). He still sells records, if not in the quantity he used to, and of course is a massive live draw.
Good luck Ed!

I know not everyone loves his music, but I really appreciate how humble he always seems when I’ve seen him. I’ll never forget when he was headlining a fest and he told the story about his first US tour and how he was taking it all in because he didn’t think he’d ever be back and that The A Team would be his one hit wonder song.

““I met Ed Howard from Asylum records at a show in Notting Hill when I was 18 and I ended up crashing at his and his now wife’s house.”
I don’t think I’ve ever heard an Ed Sheeran that didn’t end with him crashing at somebody’s house.
