George Miller practically had a nervous breakdown from [having to work with a difficult Tom Hardy on Mad Max: Fury Road.](https://i.imgur.com/B9Acmnt.jpeg)

He’s a great actor but doesn’t sound like someone I’d want to work with.

    2. He is the one of those actors where the performance is amazing enough that directors probably keep taking the risk anyway.

This is a great example of women in Hollywood bearing the brunt of hatred for “diva” behavior whereas actors in comparison who have documented misbehavior are never the subject of social media hate campaigns.

Like the sheer amount of vitriolic racist, ageist and misogynistic comments one still sees in a JLo Reddit post in 2026 is dismaying.

    4. You know things must be bad when no one made any attempt to hide it. No “scheduling conflicts”, no “family reasons” (that was the one Netflix came up with when John Boyega walked off Rebel Ridge), no “oh this was always our plan!”. Wow.

Yeah things must have gotten BAD.

I love this show so I’m bummed that it’s kinda spoiled now 😒😒

Given his behavior during Mad Max: Fury Road and The Revenant, it’s not surprising. And probably on a bunch of other movie sets too.

    7. As I said in another thread this is coming off like those reports on Henry Cavill being extremely difficult and the media was paid to get in front of it and frame it a specific way.

Maybe Hardy was difficult but I’ve learned not everything (not much) is organic these days in terms of reports and there’s usually motivation behind it.

He sounds like an ahole but there is no Mobland without his character.

    9. I like Tom Hardy. He’s a good actor. He’s hot.

I don’t get why we allow men in Hollywood to constantly be pricks. Even when it doesn’t cross the border into “cancellable” territory, just being a total pain in the ass to work with, demanding, commandeering productions, yelling at coworkers, etc. should be enough to make people not want to work with you.

There’s no shortage of talent in the world. Replace people. Quit hiring ones that can’t work well with others.

Like, is Jared Leto such a singular talent that you couldn’t hire someone else to play his roles? Is Tom Hardy? Is anyone?
