Ever since my friend pointed out that he always starts videos with women by “100% disagreeing” even if he eventually comes around, I can’t unsee it

    2. I dunno, I hear people moving in to my suburbs and acting like it’s cool because you can still see homeless people and junkies, it pisses me off. These people aren’t there to create a ‘vibe’ for you.

    3. as a new yorker, this is a real & weird take. I understand what she is trying to say re: gentrification but saying “white ppl cant sit on stoops in bed stuy bc it’s not as aesthetic” is weird af lmfao.

are we gonna have stoop police?

She’s from a wealthy family, not black, and moved to Bedstuy in the 2010s. So in what way is she not exactly the same as any white transplant she’s criticizing here.

I’m Aussie so the only ‘stoop’ culture I got was stoop kid from Hey Arnold!

Sitting on the verandah or stoop being seen as ‘aesthetic’ is just dumb as fuck to me.

As someone originally from Queens, people sitting on their stoop bothers the hell outta me. Especially when it’s a bunch of dudes drinking and smoking when I’m trying to walk by.

I do find this funny but also I don’t think you can avoid being cringy the further in depth you go discussing minority issues without anyone of that minority group present.

I currently live in bed-stuy, ive been here for about 8 years and the gentrification here is astounding.

What do you mean “rattles some gentrifier cages”? she’s a rich Pakistani woman living in Brooklyn, she’s the gentrifier lol

She’s a gentrifier though. She’s just trying to make herself not seem as bad. I also find this viewpoint to be transplant mindset.

“Sure I’m chasing out your family, but at least I don’t sit on the stoop!!!”
